Obituary for Daniel M. Forrest Sr.
Daniel "Danny" M. Forrest, Sr.
Age 68, a native of Lakeview, Michigan and resident of Montpelier, LA, Daniel "Danny" M. Forrest, Sr. went to his Heavenly Home on Thursday, June 26, 2014. He proudly served his country in Vietnam as a Combat Veteran, and was a member of Eagle Heights Community Church. Danny was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also loved watching western movies, barbecuing and cooking jambalaya, he was a loving husband and father, but above all else, adored his grandchildren.
Danny leaves behind his devoted wife of 32 years, Mary Temple Forrest; sons, Daniel M. Forrest, Jr. and wife Regina, Kevin C. Forrest and wife Kathryn, Luke D. Forrest and Sheri Welch; mother, Lucille Forrest; siblings, Nancy Lucido and husband Sal, Susan Peco and husband Ralph "Billy", Linda Forrest, Michael Forrest and wife Sheila, David Forrest. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Preceding Danny in death were his father, Julius "Obie" Forrest; grandparents, Julius and Leona Forrest, and George and Pauline Ronyak.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Eagle Heights Community Church on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the religious service at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Kevin Dunn will officiate the services and interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Pine Grove, LA.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home.
