Mrs. Bertha Prenatt, 30 years old, 626 State Street, died at 2 o'clock Friday morning at St. Edward's Hospital of injuries suffered a week ago when an automobile in which she was riding with her husband, Roy Prenatt and their two small children skidded over an embankment on State Road No. 150, six miles northwest of New Albany, and overturned. Mrs. Prenatt was hurled through the windshield. She suffered a fractured upper and lower jaw, five broken ribs, a fractured collarbone and internal injuries. Her husband, who was driving, said the highway was slippery from the rain. Besides her husband and the children, Helen and Willard, Mrs. Prenatt is survived by her father, William Ang; a brother, Joseph, and a sister, Mrs. George Flora. The body was taken to Mrs. Flora's residence at 1009 Floyd Street, where funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon. The mishap occurred as the family was en route to St. Mary of the Knob Church, where a relative had just died. - New Albany Weekly Ledger 11 Oct 1929 [Clarenda Jenkins was Bertha's grandmother; she died on October 3, 1929.]
