Lena Gladys Sullivan, 99, of Central City, formerly of the Archer area, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at Litzenberg Long-term Care in Central City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fairview United Methodist Church near Central City. The Rev. Richard Savage will officiate. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Solt Funeral Home in Central City.
Mrs. Sullivan was born on Feb. 21, 1901, in Grand Junction, Mo., to Robert L. and Euphemia (Manifold) Rankin. She lived in Missouri with her family until 1909, when they moved to Archer.
She married Edward T. Sullivan on Sept. 15, 1924. They lived in the Archer area until 1942, when Mr. Sullivan went to work in Denver during World War II. They continued to live in Denver until 1969, when they returned to Archer. Mr. Sullivan died on Oct. 12, 1985. Mrs. Sullivan continued to live near Archer until moving into Central City in 1993. She moved into Long-term Care in 1999.
Mrs. Sullivan was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 200, Fairview Homemakers Extension Club and Archer Area Extension Club. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends and avidly read the daily newspapers.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Mrs. Delmar) Brase of Belmont, Calif.; four grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Vangie Johnston of
Hesperia, Calif.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Johnston; and two brothers, Kenneth and Mike Rankin.
