Eugene E. Lambert, 74, of 939 Bernon St., Mount Vernon Apartments, a carder at the former American Silk Co. for eight years, retiring in 1970, died Tuesday in the Landmark Medical Center-Woonsocket Unit.

A lifelong Woonsocket resident, he was a son of the late Elvar and Julienne (Mercier) Lambert.

He received the Man of the Year Award in 1986 from the Mount Vernon Apartments Seniors Club.

He leaves a son, Armand Lambert of Woonsocket; two daughters, Lillian Roy of Blackstone, Mass., and Marie "Terry" Lebrun of Woonsocket; a brother, Henry Lambert of Cumberland; five sisters, Alice Beaulieu, Jean d'Arc Robidoux, Etoila O'Rourke and Rita LeCourt, all of Woonsocket, and Lillian Champagne of Cumberland; and seven grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. in St. Louis Church, Rathbun Street. Burial will be private.
