Mike was currently employed by CertaPro Painters, had also worked at Spinney Creek Shellfish and Undersea Enterprises of Portsmouth.

Mike was a proud member of the Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons, was Worshipful Master of Strafford Lodge #29, and a 32° Mason of Scottish Rite.

Mike was an NRA member, an avid reader of history, and made the world's best cheesecake. He was a passionate explorer of life and enjoyed scuba diving, coin collecting, metal detecting, gold panning, airplanes, treasure hunting, and housepainting.

Mike is best known for making fast friends with all he met, for his contagious laugh and his giving nature.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald Starkey. He will be greatly missed by his loving mother; his brother and his wife; his sisters; his step-sister; all of his fraternity brothers, co-workers and countless friends.
