Mr. Lawrence Whittle, 46, Campground, died Tuesday at his home following an illness of two years.

The son of Ray Whittle of Nancy and the late Mrs. Etta Hudson Toht, he was born at Nancy on August 30, 1922. He was married on August 5, 1950, to the former Goldie Stevens, who survives.

He was a veteran of World War II, a winner of the Bronze Star, and a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; his father; and four children, SP-4 Carter Ray Whittle, Ft. McClellan, Alabama, and Kay, Larry, and Steven Whittle, Campground; four brothers, Ray and Jess Whittle, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Elza and J.C. Whittle, Dayton, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Faye Sandy and Mrs. Bonnie Lopper, both of Dayton, and Mrs. Mae Yosick, California; one granddaughter, Anna Kay West; his stepmother, Mrs. Bertha Whittle, Nancy; and three half-sisters and one half-brother.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Denney-Murrell-Correll Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Burress officiating. Burial will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.

The remains will be at the Denney-Murrell-Correll Funeral Home after 3 p.m. today until time for funeral services.

Denney-Murrell-Correll Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
