Perry Edward Seevers was born in Bellaire, Belmont County, Ohio, on June 26, 1888 (according to his WW I Draft Registration Card) or 1889 (according to his West Virginia marriage license).

He grew up "Perry Carroll" assuming he was the son of George Carroll & Hannah "Fannie" Seevers. He began using his mother's maiden name, Seevers, prior to his marriage to Sena Goodballet in 1910.

Perry was a tailor. He could take a bolt of fabric and make a suit. He was also a baker, according to the East Liverpool City Directories up to about 1920. Family lore says he played semi-professional baseball at one time, but no one remembers which team.

According to Perry's great grandson, Perry was an accomplished billiards player. "He and a friend called the "Batavia Kid" would work the nearby towns and cities hustling pool halls. He would leave for a few weeks at a time, and return to his lovely wife, Sena, with a wad of cash and he would spread it out on the table, and tell Sena to pay the bills.

Perry's great grandson was told by some old timers in East Liverpool in the 1920s or 30s that a man hustling pool may have been ambushed by some pool hall patrons in a nearby town after losing their money. They didn't know if it was Perry, his partner or someone else. They were never able to collaberate this story. "I've always thought this could be a possible reason for him disappearing without any trace."

Perry's oldest son, Clinton Robert Seevers, believed he was the last family member to see Perry. He followed him to town one day to the trolley. His dad spotted him and told him to go home. His sons never saw their father again, and his wife, nor his brother or sister-in-law would discuss the matter.

Update: Information has been discovered that suggests Perry changed his name to Perry Edward TAYLOR. He seems to have retired October 11, 1950, and died February 16, 1979. No information on location has yet been found.

Anyone with information please contact me.

Perry & Sena's children:
