Private Carlyle O. Larson, U. S. Marine Corps; born September 27, 1918; son of Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Larson, Glenwood, Minnesota; attended Luther 1938-41; took part in the raid on Makin Island; reported missing in action in the Pacific August 17, 1942, and in September 1943 was officially declared dead.
