Col. Baker owned Kensington Farm on Russell Cave Pike, Lexington, Kentucky, one of the largest thoroughbred breeding establishments in the United States. He was the breeder of Head Play, who won the 1933 Preakness Stakes after finishing second to Brokers Tip in the famous "fighting finish" in the Kentucky Derby.
