GALVESTON - Eugene Holman, 80, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 16, 2002, at UTMB. Hospital. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m.., today, October 20, 2002, followed by a wake from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.., in the chapel of E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2002, at the
Gethsemane Baptist Church, with the Rev. M. C. Herndon Sr., officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

Eugene was born August 31,1922, in Timpson, Texas, to Felix and Mary Roberson Holman. He was a retired laborer from Local 116 with over fifty years of service. He was a U.S. Army WW II veteran. He was a member of the Gethsemane church where he faithfully served as a Deacon, member of the choir, Finance Committee and the Pastors Aid.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 year, Ruby Holman of Galveston; son, Kenneth Holman (Lucretia) of Texas City; daughters, Ann Petteway of Galveston, and Sharon Simmons (Michael) of LaMarque; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Lucille
Brown (Joe) and Ophelia Holman both of Rosharon, Texas; daughter in law, Patricia Toliver of Galveston; two brothers-inlaw; one sister-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
