Harold Dobbins, age 75, formerly of West Main Street, Forest City, NC, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Forest City Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born May 7, 1939 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Hoyle Dobbins and Ollie Davis Dobbins. Harold worked for Powers Plumbing for many years and was also a commercial painter. He was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Harold was loved by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Jewell Dobbins; three brothers, Earl, J.D. and Wilbur Dobbins; four sisters, Sybil Rausch, Jeannette Gibson, Hazel Bailey, Modene Dobbins and grandson, Kyle Dobbins.

Survivors include four sons, James Harris Dobbins of Durham, NC, Jackie Dobbins, Roger Dobbins and Doug Dobbins all of Forest City; two sisters, Aileen Cooper and Susan Cooper; brother, Michael Dobbins all of Forest City; many nieces and nephews which includes, Glenda Cooper, Darlene Hooper and Ronald Lovelace. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Wayne Toney officiating. Interment will follow in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
