She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Willie Theo Steele, a son, William Larry Steele, and her parents. She worked for B H Douglas Aluminum Foundry for more than 20 years. She loved gospel music, collecting porcelain dolls, figurines of Noah's Ark, and growing flowers in her garden.
Survivors include daughters, Brenda Darlene Banks, Sylvia Ann White, and Dorothy Elaine Bearden, all of Newnan; a brother J. L. Thrower, Wilmington, North Carolina; sisters, Eleanor Tyle, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and Priscilla Helton, Newnan; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were at the Jones Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Tom Steele and Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Newnan. Jones Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
