From the 15 Mar 1912 Van Wert, Ohio, Twice-A-Week Bulletin: "R.V. Meely, a former resident of Union township, died, Monday, at the family home near Mendon. The body was brought here at noon Wednesday and was taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. Staley, of 409 Cable street. Mr. Meely was aged about sixty years and was especially well known to the older residents of this county."
