Hallie Carlos Smith, age 79,of Waverly, Ohio, died Saturday May 3, 2014 at his residence. He was born July 15, 1934 in Lincoln County, West Virginia, a son of the late Bernie and Gertie Arnold Smith. Mr. Smith was united in marriage August 4, 1959 to his wife Catherine Louise Anderson Smith, who survives. Also surviving are eight children, Sharon Kay (Mike) Hamburg of Chillicothe, Ohio, Grace Ann (Sherman) Tuttle of Beaver, Ohio, Hallie Lee (Missi) Smith of Beaver, Ohio, Donna Jean Smith of Springfield, Ohio, Mary Louise (Scott) Mielke of Columbus, Ohio, Brenda Sue Smith (Fiance` Andy Jenkins) of Beaver, Ohio, Thomas Eugene Brenda Jean) Smith of Beaver, Ohio and Lisa (Chester) Looney of Piketon, Ohio, eighteen grandchildren Tim (Tiffany) Morris Rusty Morris,Isaiah Tuttle, Shannon(Regina)Tuttle, Matthew(Whitney Linn) Smith,Tiffany(Alex)Jackson,Michael Smith,Jennifer & Emily Blair, Sean(Rebecca),Marc,Amber Mielke,Stephanie Hall, Amanda Hall( fiance Jamie Fields),Greg Smith(& Fiance Hope Pack);Brenna Smith Renee Smith,Christine Nesselroad.
twelve great-grandchildren Tyler,Georgia,Gunner Morris;Abbey Arayah,Lathem Tuttle; Lila Linn Smith; Kaleb & Madison White; Cailyn Brigner, Bryce White; Gavin Smith. three brothers, Charles (Vivian) Smith of Cleveland,Ohio, Richard (Gloria) Smith of Waverly, Ohio and Johnny (Evelyn) Smith of Lindsey, Ohio and one sister, Mildred G. (Mack) Whited of Beaver, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Angela Young Tuttle and Melissa Hall and six brothers.

Mr. Smith was very blessed to give his life to the Lord at his home surrounded by his family and friends from the Givens Freewill Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday May 7, 2014 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home with Rev. Major Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
