James Luther "Papa" Briscoe was the son of Philip Darling & Frances A. (Brown) Briscoe of Walton County, Georgia. He married Ida "Lizzie" Elizabeth "Mama" (Mayfield) Briscoe on or around 1900. She was the daughter of Isaac "Ike" William & Malissa Jane (McCarty) Mayfield of Walton County, Georgia. James fought in World War I and resided in Loganville, Georgia and was a Farmer. James Luther was of Medium Height and Build with Brown eyes, Black hair. Luther and his wife, "Lizzie" had some 3 children: Loma Mae, born abt 1903, Pauline, born abt 1906, and James Frederick "Fred", born 24 Oct 1912 & died 09 Jan 1981 in Russell Nursing Home, Barrow County, Winder, Georgia. All the Children were born in Walton County, Georgia.
