Mr. Kocerha attended schools and graduated from Calhan. Mr. Kocerha lived in Calhan until 1977 before moving to Alamosa and then to Colorado Springs and moved to Kersey to live closer to his son. Mr. Kocerha was a rancher, school bus driver and truck driver until he retired due to his health. Ernest enjoyed fishing, hunting and polka dancing. Most of all, time with his family.
Survivors include one daughter, Theresa Atencio of Monte Vista, one son, Curtis (Shelly) Kochera of La Salle, and one brother, Thomas Kochera of Simla, one sister, Lois Bradshaw of Simla, five grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
Memorial services were at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 501 49th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado.
