Aberdeen - Mass of Christian Burial for Grace D. Blando, 87, Aberdeen, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 409 2nd Ave. N.E., with Rev. Gregory Tschakert officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Ave. N.W. A liturgical wake service will be 5:30 p.m. with a Catholic Daughters of the Americas Rosary at 6 p.m. both on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary and one hour before the funeral mass on Wednesday at the church. Grace passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor, Aberdeen. Grace was born Aug. 29, 1918, to Fred and Dora (Hoops) Nehls on the family farm southwest of Groton, S.D. She attended country school in the area. Grace and Philip Blando were united in marriage March 25, 1940, in Aberdeen. They made their home in Aberdeen where Grace was employed with the Pantorium Dry Cleaners for 37 years. She enjoyed crafting, quilting and loved her tulips. Preceding in death are her parents, two brothers and one sister. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Philip of Aberdeen; one daughter, Pat (Kenneth) Zens of Aberdeen; six grandchildren, Kendra Gates, Todd (Amy) Zens, Randy (Stacy) Zens, Michelle Zens, Deserae (Ryan) Husby, Jacob Zens, and nine great-grandchildren, Lauren Gates, Danielle Gates, Veronica Gates, Ian Zens, Matthew Zens, Trevor Zens, Gregory Zens, Sarah Zens and Phillip Zens; one sister, Mary Ann (Marvin) Fliehs of Cogswell, N.D.; two brothers, Carroll "Spike" (Pat) Nehls of Groton, S.D., and Maurice Nehls of Langford, S.D.
