Billie Sue Wrather Sharp, 89, of Sikeston, died June 24, 2014, at The Arbors Living Center in Cape Girardeau. Born January 5, 1925, in Sikeston, to the late William Ottis and Elizabeth McCall Burnett, she had been employed for many years by the Division of Family Services. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morehouse, Eagles Women's Auxiliary #3319 in Sikeston and the Eastern Star Lodge in Morehouse. On December 25, 1942, she married Earlin "Dude" Wrather, who preceded her in death on February 21, 1973. On December 18, 1976, she married Norman C. Sharp, who preceded her in death on June 12, 2000.
Also preceding her in death were her two sons, Robert Wrather of Catron and Richard Wrather of Sikeston.
Survivors include: two stepsons, Kenneth Sharp and Stephen Sharp, both of St. Louis; two stepdaughters, Sharon Sharp and Sandra Sharp, also of St. Louis; six grandchildren, Richard Lionel Wrather, Jr., Benjamin Wrather, Ashley Renee Fritz, Stacy Dyan Wrather Younger, Robert Anthony Wrather and Shelly Denise Wrather Mainord; 12 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and one cousin, Cornelia Virden of Atkins, Ark.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be Duke Mainord, Matt Younger, Tanner Fritz, Ben Wrather, Ricky Wrather and Tony Wrather.
