Jane P. HOSEY WRIGHT was born to Isaac "Ike" HOSEY and Harriet DePRIEST HOSEY on 13 SEP 1876 in Lake Como, Jasper County, Mississippi. She died on 12 DEC 1967 in Checotah, McIntosh County, Oklahoma, at 91 Years, 2 Months, and 29 Days old. Jane P. is listed on the Dawes Roll #4081, Card #1274 (Muscogee Creek Indian)

When Jane was 15 Years, 2 Months, and 12 Days old, she was married Cyreneus Judge "Charlie" WRIGHT who was 39 Years, 10 Months, and 20 Days old, exactly 24 Years, 8 Months, and 8 Days older than Jane! (25 November 1891 in Standing Rock (McIntosh County), Indian Territory, Oklahoma)

Who would have thought that a 15 year old girl would enjoy 50 Years, 6 Months, and 26 Days of happy marriage until her, much older, love of her life, C. J. WRIGHT died on 29 April 1941?

Note written by Jane P. HOSEY WRIGHT in Checotah, OK, dated November 7, 1966

"I, Jane Hosey Wright, was born in Mississippi, September13, 1876. I am now 90 years old. My father was Isaac Hosey. My mother was Harriet DePriest. All born in Mississippi. Come to Oklahoma when I was 13 years old in 1889.

If I remember right, C. J. Wright, my husband, was born in Indiana. His father moved to Stringtown. Stringtown, Oklahoma, is south of McAlester, Oklahoma. I don't know just how many miles. Not far, tho. And Charles ...that is my husband, or was before he died in 1941... rode a horse through Indiana to Stringtown. He rode through Fisher Town and through Eufaula. Somehow he got to know my uncle ...Mother's sister's husband, Pat Simpson. He would stop and stay with them for a month at a time and there is where I first met him. His name was not Charlie. It was Cyreneus Judge, I can't spell ‘Cyreneus'.

He did not like his name so every one called him Charlie. He had one whole brother (that sounds funny "whole brother") George Wright, and Alva was George's oldest son, my son's cousin. There are several children. Just one of George's children living -- son, Roy Wright, lives in Warner, Okla, 12 miles east of here. He is near 80. He came to see me a year ago. His wife is dead and been dead about 40 years. Roy never married any more."

The following information taken from hand written letters of Jane P. HOSEY WRIGHT.

"I was born during a hurricane in Jasper County, Mississippi on September 13, 1876. My family left Mississippi on December 24, 1888. A four span of oxen pulled the wagon. The older children walked beside the wagon as we traveled. We arrived in McIntosh County, Oklahoma (Indian Territory) on February 10, 1889. My father ( Isaac William HOSEY) died suddenly after eating too much ice cream in a contest. He is buried in Paden, Oklahoma. (HOSEY Cemetery .. 9 miles north of Paden, OK"

Grand daughter, Carol Jeanne MOORE CLAYTON, told the family that "Grandma Hosey Wright did not have a middle name. So they just gave her the letter 'P'."
