A memorial service was held Dec. 30 at Porterville Development Center. Following cremation, burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville under the direction of Myers Funeral Home of Porterville.
She was born Sept. 20, 1909 in Stone Mountain, Ga. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church and the American Women's Press Association. She was a foster grandparent at P.D.C. for 28 years.
She is survived by five daughters, Joyce Bauer, Doris Wock, Marian Kropog and Helen Bartless, all of Porterville and Sharon Heimann of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; a son, Velmer Gray of Plains, Mont.; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Velmer Gray in 1936 and Walter Watts in 1988 and brothers and sisters.
