Kathryn "Kay" Fischer 73, Ellendale, North Dakota died Tuesday, Nov 4, 1994 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Kathryn Feist was born Oct. 7, 1920 in Hague, North Dakota.

After school she married Joseph Fischer on Jan. 2, 1941 in Hague. She was a country school teacher for five years, while also doing seamstress work. After her children were through school, she took her next job as director of activities at the Ellendale Nursing Center. She retired in 1983 after 11 years of service. After retirement she was a volunteer at the Ellendale Nursing Center, the Golden Rule Home and the Dickey County Hospital until her death.

She was a member of St. Helena's Catholic Church where she was the First Holy Communion Fraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) teacher. She served in that capacity for more than thirty years.

Survivors include her husband of Ellendale; two sons, Gerald Fischer of Newburgh, Indiana, and Timothy Fischer of Augusta, Georgia; two daughters, Mrs. Steve (Beverly) Adkins of St. Cloud, Minnesota; and Mrs. Rick (Mary) Ulmer of Ellendale; one brother, Joe Feist of Kansas; one sister, Mrs. Edwin (Mary) Snell of Punto Gorda, Florida; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Casketbearers will be Scott Fischer, Mark Fischer, John Beringer, Bob Adkins, Josh Beringer and Robert Bechtold Jr.
