Doctor, public servant and humanitarian. Born in Benicia, California, the son of dentist Sylvester Woodbridge and his wife Mary, Bradford Woodbridge attended the Benicia schools and later received his medical degree at Cooper Medical College in San Francisco. He practiced medicine in various locations including Elk Grove (Sacramento County), Alturas, Mexico (company physician for the Minas Fritas Gold Mining Company), and Rocklin as the Southern Pacific Railroad Company physician. When the railroad center was shifted to Roseville in 1908, Dr. Woodbridge re-located his family there (wife Cora and daughter Anna), and remained there for the rest of his life. He worked as a doctor, as well as serving on the city council and serving several terms as mayor. During his tenure many city improvements were made (modernizing the fire department, paving a number of streets, creating two parks among others). Dr. Woodbridge died of a heart attack at his home on Main Street in the summer of 1933. In remembrance of his many contributions to his adopted city, Sierra Vista Park was renamed Woodbridge Park. In addition an elementary school was named Woodbridge School. His wife Cora (Utter) Woodbridge died in a rest home in Sacramento in 1949.
