FORT MEADE - Mr. Amos Le Skipper, 85, passed away at his home in Fort Meade on Tuesdat June 24, 2014, of Heart failure.
Amos was born in Marianna, Florida to A. B. and Lucy Skipper on November 20, 1928. He was a member of the First Church of God, Fort Meade and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Skipper was proceeded in death by his parents; brothers, C. O. Skipper, Clinton Skipper and one sister, Callie Mae Odendine.
Amos is survived by his wife, Margaret, of 59 years; daughter, Wanda Newman and husband Christopher Newman of Orlando, FL, one brother, Douglas Skipper of Margate, FL; two sisters, Hattie Coppack of Winter Haven and Helen Hales of Auburndale, FL.
Vistation will be Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. at Hancock Funeral Home in Fort Meade. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Travis Risner officiating. Internment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, 2525 Drane Field Road, Suite 4, Lakeland, Florida 33811.
