John E. Anthrop, 99 of 1550 West State Street, West Lafayette died at 6 p.m. Saturday December 27, 2003 in Home Hospital.
Born April 3, 1904 in Tippecanoe County, he was a lifelong West Lafayette area resident.
He married Alma P. Royer on August 23, 1939 in St. Boniface church. She died September 19, 1973.
Mr. Anthrop was a farmer. He also was a mechanic for the Indiana State Police West Lafayette post for 18 years, retiring April 30, 1959. He continued farming and worked in maintenance for Tippecanoe County School Corp, retiring in 1974.
He was a member of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament and Indiana Troopers Association.
Surviving are two sons, J. Thomas Anthrop (wife Judy) of Douglas, MI and Lawrence A. Anthrop (wife Dianne) of Lafayette and a sister Mildred Ehresman of West Lafayette.
