Joan H. Raddatz, age 82, died on June 24, 2014. She was born June 9, 1932 in Pewamo, the daughter of Casper and Vera (Schafer) Cook. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo, and Church of Resurrection Choir. Joan retired from the Michigan Dept. of Treasury-Income Tax Division in 1999. Joan was an avid reader and a devout Catholic all of her life. She was a very loving person and always said "thank you" to everyone who helped her during her lengthy stay at the Ashley Care Center and at Ovid Healthcare. We wish to thank them for their kindness and loving care during her stay there. She married Ray Raddatz on Sept. 8, 1978 and he preceded her in death October 12, 1986.

Joan is survived by two sisters, M. Eileen Thelen of Fowler and Bertine (Leon) Thelen of St. Johns, nineteen nieces and nephews, step-daughter, Janean (Steven) Lonsdorf of North Carolina, step-daughter-in-law, Virginia Raddatz of Stanton, two step-grandchildren, Roxanne Gorland and Amelia (Jeremy) Springer, four great grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Neva Plourde of Webberville. In addition to her husband, Joan was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Amelia Cook, one brother, Philip (Rona) Cook, one sister-in-law, Bea Schneider, step-son, Terry Raddatz and one brother-in-law, Marvin Thelen.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo, burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, with Fr. Charlon Mason officiating.
