Mr. J.J.Schaefer died after a long and painful illness. It is supposed that his sickness was induced by breathing the dust of the threshing machine. He, as is well-known, has been engaged with his thresher during falls and winters. His final sickness was typhoid malaria. He leaves a widow and six children. Mr. Schaefer was an energetic, hard-working man, and was very much respected by all who had made his acquaintance. He died at the early age of 32 years, stricken down while little beyond the threshold of manhood, and in the midst of a busy and useful life.
