Jackie Lee Kelly, 74, of Elkview, went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2014, at Hubbard Hospice House after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
He worked very hard in the oil and gas fields and also owned his own water well business for a period of time. His one love was truck driving. He could drive anything you needed him to drive and do it with perfection. He worked for Quick Delivery in state and on the road. He served six years in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS York County LST-1175. Jackie was a member of Poca Fork Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late Paul and Freda Shouldis Kelly.
Jackie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Murdock Kelly; daughter, Brenda Kelly Cain and husband, Randall; grandchildren, Randall Cain II and wife, Ashley, and Olivia Cain Adkins and husband, Joseph; great-grandchildren, Emma Adkins and Maggie Adkins; sisters, Linda Daugherty, Mary Ratliff, Katherine Cottrell and Melissa Hizer; and brothers, Roger Kelly and John Kelly.
Honoring Jackie's wishes, he was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cooke Funeral Home and Crematorium, Nitro, is assisting the Kelly family.
