Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett with the Rev. Wesley Dykes officiating.
Mr. Cowart is survived by his wife, Sujette J. Cowart; and two sons, A.J. Cowart Jr. of West Point and Tony Devon Cowart of Panama City Beach, Fla.
Born May 8, 1914 in Waycross, Ga., Mr. Cowart had retired from WestPoint Pepperell's Fairfax Mill after 45 years of service with the company. He was a member of Lanett First Church of the Nazarene. He was the son of the late Eliza Strickland Cowart and Cullen Columbus Cowart.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 8 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
