Helen Claudia (Thorp) Adams was born on August 4th, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas, to Lt. Colonel Claude Thorp and Helen Irene Thorp. "Claudia", as friends and family knew her, graduated from Zillah High School in 1946. Claudia will be remembered as an outstanding musician whose musical talent was esteemed by all those around her.
She is survived by sisters Caroline (Robert) Burrell, Enumclaw, Washington; Kathie (Thorp) Morris, Eugene, Oregon; Daughter Jerri Balch (Robert) Nyberg, Sand Point, Alaska; Granddaughters Julie Nyberg, Long Beach, Washington; Erin (Nyberg) Galovin, Sand Point, Alaska; Hilary Nyberg, Naples, Florida; Shannara Lafountaine, Marshall, Minnesota; Katie Lafountaine, Auburn, Washington and great grandchildren Isaiah Lafountaine, Dillon Lafountaine, Jayden Lafountaine, Arlin Galovin Jr., Keira Galovin, Jacoba King, and Rylen Nyberg. Helen Thorp, Lt. Colonel Claude Thorp, Husband Edward Adams, son Leonard Balch, daughter Janitha Balch Lafountaine, and great-granddaughter Nikayla Ann Nyberg preceded Claudia in death. A deep believer in our lord, we know she is walking with them in heaven. A service will be held at the Grace Community Church in Auburn, Wa. on May 21st at 11am. There will be an interment at the Thorp Cemetery at 5pm the same day.
