Mrs. Ann E. Smith, aged 82, died at West Point Thursday night of paralysis. Her husband was the late J. K. Smith, and she was a sister of Col. A. S. Payne, of this city. Mrs. Smith leaves five daughters and a host of relatives and friends. She was a consistent Christian, and builded a character which will remain as a beacon light to those who would strive for a noble and pure life. The body was brought to Columbus Friday at noon and after services held in the Episcopal church the burial took place at Friendship cemetery.
