Milton Cook Jr. was born on July 14, 1926 in Nevada County to the late Albama and Milton Cook, Sr. He departed his life on June 21, 2014 at Ouachita County Medical Center.

Milton Cook, Jr. enjoyed being a referee for basketball and football, fishing, hunting, and campaigning. He worked for OTASCO, United Furniture Factory, and Camden Fairview Public School District. He also worked for Mildred Mathis' family for forty years.

In 2012, he was honored with the Certificate of Recognition and Appreciation from Ouachita County Democratic Central Committee. He enjoyed working with the youth. For all of his hard work and dedicated, he was also honored at Ira Clark Park. He was dedicated to improving the town he lived in.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Cook; and sister, Wilmateen Taylor.

Survivors include his son, Milton Cook, III and wife, Rosalind of Camden; daughter, Henrietta Purifoy of Camden; two granddaughters, Kristi Cook of Camden and Mechelle Purifoy of Little Rock; two great grandchildren, Jayden Hawkins of Camden and Clarissa Purifoy of Springdale; and a special friend, Maple Robinson of Camden.

Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Eddie R. Moore Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 6- 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
