Darrell John Wallace, 33 , of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at home.
Darrell was born August 12, 1980 in Pocatello, Idaho and spent most of his childhood in Blackfoot, Idaho playing sports and particularly loved baseball and football. He was a fan of the Los Angeles Dogders and Daryl Strawberry, the Atlanta Hawks and Dominique Wilkins, Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Red Wings. He coached his younger siblings in every way possible to make sure that they never made any of the mistakes he made in sports and in life.
After graduating from Blackfoot High School in 1998, Darrell became the father of his little angel on earth, Ashlyn Wallace, and spent every waking moment of the next few years with her until her passing in June of 2004.
At the same time, he was an electrician living and working throughout Southeastern Idaho and Central New Mexico. Although he enjoyed working hard, his dearest passion was being a dad and spending time with his family. He spent as much downtime as possible playing with his four children. He also loved his nieces' and nephews' company and took his role as a big brother and son very seriously and sincerely. Aside from his family, Darrell knew everything there was to know about the Dodgers organization, enjoyed fishing, coaching youth sports, studying philosophy, and investing in the stock and Foreign exchange market. His goal was to work from home as a day trader so he wouldn't have to spend so much time traveling for work, and could be home with his children more.
Darrell is survived by his companion, Rachael Ariwite of Pocatello; his son, Aiden Stanley Wallace; and daughters, Kaiya Elizabeth Wallace and Isabelle Mckena Wallace all of Pocatello; his parents, Donna Jean (Rex) Priest of Blackfoot and Darrell Lester Wallace of Pocatello; sister, Valerie (Bill) Wright of Island Park; brothers, Timothy Priest of Blackfoot and Russell (Leesa) Priest of Idaho Falls.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Wendy Wallace; and his first daughter, Ashlyn Rose Wallace, with whom he is now reunited.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Mountain View Cemetary on 1520 S 5th Avenue in Pocatello, Idaho. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 25, 2014 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot.
