Mary Ann Barr, 84, Louisville, formerly of Casey Creek, died Thursday, April 27, 1989, at Humana Hospital Southwest in Louisville after an extended illness. She was a native of Ash Co., NC, and the daughter of the late David L. Shepherd and Elizabeth Hartsog Shepherd. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of God. She was preceded in death by: her husband, James Wilson Barr, in 1954 and 1 daughter, Bernice Velma Craven. Barr is survived by 1 son and 1 daughter, Howard Wayne Barr, Campbellsville, and Janet D. Riggs, Louisville; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and 2 sisters, Ottis, Conley & Wilmer Shepherd and Grace Horn, all of North Carolina, and Opal King, Ashland, IL; several other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Barr Family Cemetery in Taylor County. The Revs. Bill & M.B. Means officiated. Pallbearers were Johnnie Jones, Wendell Dicken, James Kessler, Gary Dicken, Donnie Wood and Leon Shepherd.
