CARIBOU and KENANSVILLE, NC – Armond Bourgoin, 89, died June 20, 2014 at Kenansville. He was born in Stockholm, July 22, 1924 the son of the late Christopher and Marie (Bosse) Bourgoin.

Mr. Bourgoin served with the US Army during WWII, where he served in the European Theater at Normandy. He was a 60 year member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW, the Henry B. Pratt Post 15 American Legion and also served as former vice president of the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Mr. Bourgoin was known for his craftsmanship as a brick mason in Maine and at his winter residence in Florida. He was a 54 year member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Union. He loved to fish, hunt and garden. He enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, reading and singing. One of Armond's favorite songs was "You Are My Sunshine" and reciting a childhood poem, "A Bunch of Golden Keys".

Mr. Bourgoin was predeceased by his wife Irene (Brissette) Bourgoin and a son, Bart Pike.

He is survived by his sons Jeffrey Bourgoin and Bret Pike. His daughters Gayle Knight, Leann Stites and Karla Pike. Nine grandchildren. Eleven great grandchildren, a niece Rose Levesque and her husband Clifford. Several great nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by friends in Maine and Florida, especially Frank Doody and Ray Martin.

Graveside services will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Caribou. (Mockler Funeral Home)
