Ted was born on July 18, 1938, to Wilford G. ("Bill") and Muriel J. Cox.

He married the love of his life, Gloria F. Plewes, November 28, 1958. In celebration of their 50 year anniversary, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo Temple.

Ted and Gloria had three children, Mark, Bret, and Judy. Ted was an entrepreneur, starting a successful glass business (Ted's Glass) in Ogden, Utah when he was 28, later relocating to Springville, Utah.

Ted built the family home in Springville, from a design he created at age 14. Ted was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was an active member of the Rotary Club of Springville for 36 years, serving as President 1975 - 1976. As the acting president, he was primarily responsible and assigned to the planning and designing of the new Rotary Park in Hobble Creek Canyon.

Ted always loved talking and telling stories around friends and family. He was a friend to all he met. He loved fishing, especially in places such as Alaska, Fishlake, Strawberry, Schofield, and Lake Powell. At the age of 64 he rode his motorcycle 3500 miles down the Alaskan/Canadian highway from Anchorage, Alaska to Springville, UT. He loved tennis, golf, water/snow skiing, hunting, and motorcycles.
