ANNA M. CALHOUN, wife of Harvey A. Calhoun, died Monday, September 26, at 11:56 p.m. after a lingering illness, at her home in Gastown. Born December 9, 1877 at Plumcreek Township, Armstrong County, she was a daughter of Jackson and Rebecca Jewart Thomas, both deceased. She was married to Harvey A. Calhoun in 1897.
Her husband survives together with three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Ambrose of Rural Valley, Mrs. Marguerite Day of Cleveland, O., Mrs. Glenna Mae Wood of Shelocta, R. D. 1; two grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: William, Mellon and James Thomas of Shelocta, R. D., Harvey of Kittanning, Mrs. Margaret Timblin, of Elderton, Mrs. Maude Miller of Creekside R. D. 1 and Mrs. Emma Kepple of Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Calhoun was a faithful member of the Elderton United Presbyterian Church and as long as her health permitted, was a loyal worker in the church and Sabbath School, teaching a class in the Sabbath School for a number of years.
Services will be held in Elderton United Presbyterian Church Thursday, Sept. 29 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Arch M. Neal, D. D. will officiate.
Respect may be paid at the late, home after 7:00 p.m. today, and at the church on Thursday where the body will lie in state for one hour prior to service. Burial in Elderton Cemetery.
Clark Funeral Home, Elderton, is in charge of arrangements.
