Jimmie grew up in Mountain Park, OK and Lawton, OK. He lived in Plano, TX for a short time, before moving to Aurora, CO. Jimmie managed apartments in Aurora, CO, until he moved to Snyder in 1995. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church of Snyder.

He is survived by one brother: Kenneth Cook, Tulsa, OK
one sister: Shelia Pound, Hobart, OK

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother in law, Jimmy Pound.
