Jason Paul "Big Dawg" Landers, 42, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014, in Austin, Texas, after a long battle with liver cancer. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, June, 20, 2014, at Bethany Lutheran Church Austin. A private burial service for immediate family will follow in Cook Walden/Forest Oak Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014, at James Bowie High School Austin.

Jason was born in Fort Worth, Texas, to Julia Elizabeth and Paul Webb Landers. He graduated from Paris High School in 1990, and earned a Bachelor degree in Math from The University of Texas at Austin in 1995, where he played on the men's club volleyball team. His teaching and coaching career began immediately after graduation at Lockhart High School.

In 1998, he joined James Bowie High School, where he taught math and was the head coach of the girl's volleyball team and over the years, coached various other sports including boy's and girl's golf and girl's basketball. While at Bowie High School, Jason met Catherine "Cathie" Johnson. They were married on June 24, 2006, in Austin, Texas. He was also a member of the Austin Junior Volleyball coaching staff for 19 years. Throughout his entire coaching career, Jason has touched thousands of lives, inspired many, and has lead his many teams to countless victories.

Jason was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast, spending much of his free time at the golf course. He was a dedicated and loyal fan to his favorite teams: Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, and Texas Longhorns. Jason was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Cathie Landers; triplet daughters, Mary Catherine Landers, Amy Elizabeth Landers, and Julie Marie Landers; mother, Julia Elizabeth Landers; father, Paul Webb Landers; brother, Jon Landers and his wife, Shelley, and their three children; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and a large supporting cast of friends, coaches, co-workers, players and their families from over the last 20 years.
