Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 25, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Dwight Oliver and Daisy Mae (Atkins) Carlstedt. She married Raymond Emerson Wolf of Fort Wayne in Indianapolis November 23, 1950. He preceded her in death in 2005.
Mrs. Wolf graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis and attended Purdue University at the West Lafayette campus. While at Purdue she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority and studied Biology. She was employed by the Lafayette School system where she worked for over 20 years as a member of the administrative staff at Edgelea Elementary.
BJ was a supporter of the Breakfast Optimists organization through her husband who served in many capacities from Lafayette Chapter President to state representative. He was also a long time Professor of Communications at Purdue University. BJ and Professor Ray Wolf lived in Lafayette for over fifty years and were avid Purdue Fans. Mrs. Wolf was a member of the St John's Episcopal Church in Lafayette.
Mrs. Wolf had four daughters three of whom survive her, Jennifer Jo (Wolf) McDuffee (husband: Thomas) of Fishers, Indiana, Jocelyn Kayne (Wolf) Wolf-Bowen deceased (husband: Chet) of Winter Park Florida, Joanna Lynn (Wolf) Harper (husband: Thomas) of Charleston, South Carolina and Janelle Marta (Wolf) Lidester (husband: David) of Vienna, Austria.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, Jake McDuffee, Dair McDuffee, Graham Wolf-Bowen, Eric Wolf-Bowen, Ariana (Wolf-Bowen) Rathburn, Barie Wolf-Bowen, Gianna Ray (Wolf-Bowen) LeBlanc, Sidney Wolf-Bowen, Thomas Mathewes, Anna Mathewes, Bailey Harper, Samuel Lidester, Anna (Lidester) Henn, Claire (Lidester) Hans, Joseph Lidester, Daniel Lidester; and 10 great grandchildren, Ewan, Audrey, Ella and Leo McDuffee, Anders and Ethan Henn, Briana LeBlanc, Trinity Thorton, Ian Rathburn, and Desiree Thompson.
Mrs. Wolf was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jean (Carlstedt) Harden of Indianapolis; and step-sister, Sue Ann Silsbee of Yuba City, California.
