British Actor. Best remembered as the voice of the indestructible puppet hero in "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons" (1967) and as private detective "Paul Temple" (1969) in the BBC television series. During the 1970's, he was a familiar guest on the Morecambe and Wise comedy show. His motion picture and tv credits include: "Bhowani Junction" (1956), "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (1957), "The Revenge of Frankenstein" (1958), "Corridors of Blood" (1958), "The Hellfire Club" (1961), "The Dark Island" (1962), "The Lamp at Assassin Mew" (1962), "The Battleaxe" (1962), "Murder Ahoy" (1964), "Dracula: Prince of Darkness" (1966), "Rasputin: The Mad Monk" (1966), "The Saint" (1967), "The Avengers" (1967), "Trinity Tales" (1975), "Middlemen" (1977), "A Roof Over My Head" (1977), "The McGuffin" (1986), "May We Borrow Your Husband?" (1986), "Jonathan Creek" (1998), "Heartbeat" (2002), "The Royal" (2003), "All About George" (2005), "Beautiful People" (2009) and "Run for Your Wife" (2012). Married to actress Angela Browne, he died after a short illness.
