JAMES W. GLADNEY, "Reds", 79 of Egg Harbor Twp., passed away on June 9, 2014. Born and raised in Pleasantville, he lived in Bridgeton for several years before moving back to Atlantic County in 1979.

Reds served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post 9462 and the American Legion Post 28 both of Absecon. Reds worked for Owens Illinois Glass House of Bridgeton, then at Resorts and retired from the Taj Mahal. He was also a member of Local 54 Unite Here for 25 years. Reds best times were spent with his family and devoted grandchildren. He also enjoyed activities with the VFW and American Legion and was very proud of his service to his Country "Semper Fi".

He will be sadly missed but never forgotten by his wife of 31 years Barbara (nee: Ferretti), his five children, Ricky (Karen), Vicky, Maryann (JR), Bobby, and Richard, 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 12, 7-9 PM, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 13, 11 AM, at the Church of St. Katharine Drexel, 6077 West Jersey Ave., Egg Harbor Township, where a viewing will be held one hour prior to the Mass.

Burial will follow in the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor.
