Jim graduated from Oktaha High School in 1964 and furthered his education at OSU Tech in Okmulgee where he obtained his Associates Degree. He worked as a mechanical draftsman at Muskogee Iron Works for 15 years and then for Braden Manufacturing in Tulsa from which he retired in 2006.
Jim met Judy Gayle Fuller at an Oktaha Tigers basketball game and she became his wife on July 1, 1967. They shared almost 47 years together.
Jim enjoyed working in his shop and fixing cars or anything with a motor. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending quiet time on the fishing bank. He thought a bowl of ice cream should be a side dish at most meals. He loved spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jim is remembered as a quiet man that loved his family and friends very deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mabel Hollis; siblings, Billy Hollis, Evelyn Parnell, and Bobby Hollis; parents-in-law, Peck and Edith Fuller; brothers-in-law, Danny Fuller and Pee Wee Fuller; and great grandson, Sawyer Pevehouse.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife, three children, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, eight siblings and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.
A memorial service honoring Jim's life will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ron Butler and Brother Bobby Wingo officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Pollock, Charles Henderson, and James Watkins.
