The writer attended the funeral of Mr. Owen Berry yesterday, who came to his death by being overcome by gas in a well; so quickly was it done that he could not be rescued before he had perished. Medical aid was summoned and every effort made to save his life. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his loss. We offer our sympathy.
AND...
Mr. O. F. Berry who lived in Beat 4, while digging a well at Mr. J. Carmichael's on last Saturday was overcome by gases and died before he could be drawn out. Mr. Berry was a good citizen. He left a family to mourn his sad death.
