Mr. Dameron was born north of Huntsville but had lived in Moberly more than 50 years. He was a retired Wabash engineer. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. His wife died in 1960.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Albert Rook and Mrs. Tyler Richardson of Moberly, Mrs. John Tregnago of Higbee, Mrs. Nello Donati of Columbia, and Mrs. Thomas Campbell of Monroe, Washington; three sons, Rev. Vertio Dameron of Rockford, Illinois, Robert Dameron of San Diego, California, and Bill Dameron of Kansas City; one brother, Grover Dameron of Springfield; three sisters, Thalia Dameron and Mrs. Ray Boots of Moberly and Mrs. Joella Dalf of Houston, Texas; 25 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The body is at the Cater Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon with Pastor Jimmy Maidment, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery." Moberly Monitor-Index, October 5, 1962
