Danny G. Doyle, 64, died Sunday, June 22, 2014 in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Central United Methodist Church with Leon Laney, Pastor of the Spiritual Life Center, officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home.

Danny Gene Doyle was born May 8, 1950 in Dumas, TX to Eldon and Mary (Ringo) Doyle. Danny was raised in Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1969. He joined the US Army and trained as a Gunner on Huey Helicopters. Danny owned and operated a muffler shop where he fabricated and welded exhaust systems and did "everything exhausting".

Danny not only served in the US Army he served his local community by providing his time and talent to the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, FFA, Care Packages for Soldiers, The Veterans Memorial Committee, and had served as Exalted Ruler, Trustee, Lecturing Knight, and Chaplin of the Local Elks Club (Lodge 2390).

Danny liked cars and drag racing, was a fan of UT Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees and the LA Lakers. He was a member and fan of the PBR, a charter member, past co president and president of the Dalhart Cruzers Car Club, a member of Team MOPAR, and enjoyed showing his prize winning 1970 Challenger RT. He was also a tractor pulling team member, a member of Vogel Brothers Antique Tractor Pullers, and a member of the Double D BBQ cooking team as well as an active member of the NRA. He and his wife enjoyed target shooting, traveling and being with friends and family. Danny was a hard worker and enjoyed life!

He is survived by his wife Sherrie of Dalhart, TX, daughter – Danna Kay and her husband Dan Benge of Amarillo, TX, Billy Jack Doyle of Kerrville, TX, Heather Elizabeth O'Neal of Vernon, TX, Stephanie Gerald of Huntsville, TX and Stephen Michael and his wife Rikki Nichole White of Conroe, TX, 1 brother Dale And his wife Dora Doyle of Amarillo, TX and 1 sister Laurie Vogel of Dalhart, TX. 10 grandchildren: Breanna Benge, Whitney Benge, Rebecca Romero, Jakobe O'Neal, Danika O'Neal, Molly Gerald, Wesley Gerald, Landyn White, Nathan White and Stormie White.
