CPL. KENNETH L. RIDGE, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin G. Ridge,37 West Side Avenue, was included in the latest list of Army casualties in the Korean War.
The Department of the Army said he was presumed to be dead as of December 31, 1953. Cpl. Ridge was first reported missing in action on December 12, 1950

CPL. KENNETH L. RIDGE
Jan. 10, 1930-Dec. 12, 1950
Born the fifth child of the late Melvin G. and Mae Anna (Funk) Ridge on Friday, Jan. 10.1930, he passed away on approximately Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1950, while on evacuation from the area of the Chosin Reservoir, P.D.R.N. Korea.
He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart. He was predeceased by brothers, TFC Lauren M. Ridge and Vincent R. Ridge; and postdeceased by his parents and sisters, Zelda A. Hoover and D. Elaine Sipe.
He is survived by sisters, Gladys M. Ridge, Walkersville and Linda V. Bartles, Hagerstown, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in conjunction with the funeral service of his sister, Zelda A. Hoover at Grace United Methodist Church.
