John H. Rintoul
Mr. John H. Rintoul, who resided all his life on the 6th Line of Ramsay, passed away in Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital on January 17, following a lengthy illness. He was in his 73rd year. Born in Tatlock, Ontario, on March 19, 1895, he was the eldest son of the late Charles H. Rintoul and his wife, the late Jessie Jane Taylor. He was educated at Tatlock and attended the United Church. He farmed for many years in Ramsay Township as well as being a mechanic and machine operator, a vocation he followed for a number of years. He is survived by three brothers, Alva and Charles of Carleton Place and Archie of East Longmeadow, Mass.; a sister Margaret of Toronto. He was predeceased by a sister Elsie in 1914. The funeral took place on Friday, January 19, 1968, from the Patterson and Son Funeral Home, Carleton Place, where the service was conducted at 2 p.m. by Rev K. Murray. Interment was in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. The pallbearers, neighbours of the deceased, were John Henry, George Hilliard, Stuart McNeely, Harry Sadler, Wilfred Hendry and Wesley Thom.
