GALVESTON - Preston Everett Gregory, 68, died Friday, June 7, 2002, at Gulf Health Care Center. Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Wingate officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a wake service from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born March 14, 1934, in Jasper, Texas, to Tommy Gregory and Alice White Gregory, Preston was a carpenter and construction worker, local No. 116, using his skills to improve the life of many people and later retiring from
the City of Galveston. A Baptist in faith, Mr. Gregory continued his service to his fellow man in the Amity Lodge No. 4, AF&AM in Galveston.
Preceded hi death by a brother, Charles Gregory, survivors include a sister, Gertha Hall; a niece, Kim
Gregory; a nephew, Charles Gregory; a sisterin-law, Carrie Gregory; numerous great nieces and great nephews, all of Galveston; and many friends.
Pallbearers will be members of the Amity Lodge No. 4.
