Franklin's death certificate, his gravestone, & the 1900 U.S. census give 1841 as the year of his birth, which is what I have used; however, on pages 146 & 299 of Vital Records of Camden/Rockport, Maine compiled by Marlene A. Groves, pub. by Picton Press, 2006, the year reads 1840.
