Jake West
JONESBORO -- Jake West, 19, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, June 21, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.
A sophomore theater major at Arkansas State University, he attended Nettleton High School, where he was a member of Beta Club, National Honor Society, Thespian Society, Drama Club and Spanish Club.
His theater background included roles in The Softhearted Ghost, The Valentine Play, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Our Town, Pocahontas, Summer Stage, Footloose, Yankee Doodle Dandy: George M!, CUT! and Pippin.
He was a past member of the Arkansas Governor's School Drama Program. Most recently, he had been a member of the cast of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and "Anything Goes," presented by the Arkansas State University Theater Department.
Survivors include his parents, Bob and Kathryne West and Stacy Dryer, all of Jonesboro; a brother, Sam West of Jonesboro; and two sisters, Chelsea Davis and Jenni Lawrence, both of Jonesboro.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Riceland Hall in the Fowler Center at ASU, with Dr. Bruce Tippit officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Emerson Funeral Home.
